Read Aloud in Microsoft Edge

Read aloud can improve your reading comprehension by hearing content at your own pace, and in your desired language. Read Aloud uses natural-sounding voices and accents. 

Using Read Aloud

First, look for the Read Aloud icon in the address bar.

Select the icon and Read Aloud will begin to read the text starting from the beginning of the page.

  • If you have certain text highlighted on the page, Read Aloud will begin to read from that point.

You will also see the Read Aloud toolbar appear at the top of the web page.

Voice Options

To change voice options and settings in Read Aloud, select the Voice options button in the toolbar.

Settings:

  • Speed: Change the pace of the speech.
  • Choose a voice: change which voice is used to read.
