Empathy Labs and Workshops

Updated on

Want to attend a Workshop or Event?

The Assistive Technology Department is excited to offer workshops on empathy and accessibility.

  • Empathy Labs are in-person workshops that use interactive simulators to help people understand the challenges people with disabilities face. The goal is to help participants develop empathy and learn how to make simple products and services more accessible.
  • Virtual Empathy Workshops use Digital Disability Simulations or hands-on to provide participants with insights into the experiences of individuals with disabilities when encountering inaccessible content.
  • By engaging with these challenges firsthand and exploring accessibility best practices, participants will gain valuable skills to identify and remove barriers. This fosters a more inclusive and equitable digital environment for everyone.

Schedule a Consultation with M. Patty Petersen, Accessible Technology Manager to learn more about how your team can participate in an Empathy Lab and Workshop.
