Immersive Reader for Edge offers the same functionalities as Immersive Reader in other Microsoft applications. You customize how they read online for an easier, more accessible experience. Immersive Reader in Microsoft Edge simplifies the layout of text and images and provides amazing learning and accessibility tools, such as Read Aloud, text preferences, grammar tools, and more.
How to use Immersive Reader in Edge
First, look for the Immersive Reader icon in the address bar.
If the icon is in the address bar, select it, then select "Enter Immersive Reader." Alternatively, you can press the F9 key to enter Immersive Reader
You may not see the Immersive Reader icon in the address bar, you can still enter Immersive in one of two ways:
First, you can add the prefix read: to the URL in the address bar and press Enter (make sure the colon symbol separates "read" and "https" in the address bar. It should look like this:
read:https
Second, you can select the text that you want to read, right-click, and from the context menu, select "Open in Immersive Reader".
To exit Immersive Reader just select "Exit Immersive Reader" from the address bar or by using the keyboard shortcut F9.

Text Preferences
Choose from a wide variety of text and color options such as Text size, Text spacing, and Page themes to enhance your experience in Immersive Reader.
Select the "Text preferences" button in the Immersive Reader toolbar.
- Text size: Under the label Text size, move the slider right to make the text larger; move it left to make the text smaller.
- Text spacing: Turn on Text spacing to increase spacing between lines of text.
- Text column style: Adjust how wide your page's text column spreads.
- Page themes: Choose from a variety of page themes and color options.
Reading Preferences
Reading preferences help improve reading comprehension by splitting words into syllables and highlighting nouns, verbs, and adjectives.
To open Reading preferences, select Reading preferences from the Immersive Reader toolbar.
