What are our Assistive Technology Services and Support?

  • We are committed to providing holistic, solution-focused support.
  • We aim to support our equity, inclusion, and innovation mission in one-on-one personalized consultations that empower students and employees to overcome barriers, improve productivity, and thrive academically and professionally.
  • We offer Multi-Use Technology for all. We provide practical strategies, tips, techniques, and guidance in areas such as:
    • Note-taking tips and methods for individuals who want to explore digital free supplemental tools that may need alternative ways to capture and retain information
    • Time management and organization strategies to help individuals prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and reduce cognitive overload.
    • Study and productivity tools that anyone can use to enhance their focus and efficiency.
    • Explore Assistive Technologies that can enhance the learning experience for all, such as speech-to-text, voice dictation, text-to-speech, and many more applications/tools.
  • We offer consultations to all staff and faculty to incorporate accessible digital content and provide support resources such as Web Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and Universal Design for Learning (UDL).
  • We are critical in supporting employees with registered accommodations by partnering with the Peoples Team (Human Resources/ADA Benefits). We ensure employees have the tools and resources to perform their essential job functions effectively and equitably.
    • We use the SETT Framework and HAAT Model assessments to support recommendations for assistive technology (low-technology, mid-technology, high-technology, or NO-technology) that meet the employee's unique needs, specific work environment, and job tasks.
  • We have a Digital Resource Library of How-To and General Guides for individuals to access remotely as self-service digital articles.
  • We provide technical support for troubleshooting adaptive/assistive (devices, hardware, equipment, or software-related) issues.
  • We partner and collaborate across departments to address accessibility barriers and proactively find solutions.
