This guide will help change color settings in older versions of macOS.
How to change color settings
Open the "Apple Menu" by clicking on the Apple icon in the top left corner of the Menu Bar,
- or press "Fn" + "Ctrl" + "F2" to highlight the Apple icon then press "Enter".
Click "System Preferences…".
In the system preferences menu, click on "Accessibility".
In the accessibility menu, click on "Display" under the "Vision" header in the left-hand column.
- To invert the screen colors: In the right column, click the checkbox next to ‘Invert colors’. The color scheme will change straight away.
- To view the screen in greyscale instead of full-color: In the right column, click the checkbox next to ‘Use grayscale’. The color scheme will change straight away.
- To change the contrast level: In the right column, adjust the ‘Display contrast’ slider.
